Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a relatively new form of behavior therapy. It addresses various forms of experiential and emotion avoidance that keep people stuck and suffering. It is grounded in three premises:
Acceptance of thoughts and feelings, especially unwanted thoughts and urges. Clients identify and focus on what really matters in their lives.
Choosing Directions

Taking Action.
Clients learn committed action toward realizing valued life goals.
ACT Therapy is showing good success in many areas, especially eating disorders and addictions, as well as anxiety.
